Cream Cheese Frosting

I got asked to make these super cute cupcakes for a baked sale fundraiser for the American Heart Association. So simple but so cute! Just used some chocolate to make the little heart garnishes to fancy them up. It's amazing what a little bit of chocolate can do!

 Well, when I went to make the frosting I realized that I had forgot to go and buy butter for the frosting and that we had ran out of flour! By that time I couldn't go to the store, so I had to improvise. I decided to replace the butter with cream cheese, the flour with Bisquick and came up with this AWESOME cream cheese frosting that is super stiff and perfect for decorating even!
 When forgetfulness and creativity come together to create an awesome new recipe I applaud it! I say that now but at the time I was stressing a bit.
1 cup milk
5 Tablespoons Bisquick
1 1/2 cup sugar
8oz. cream cheese
1 teaspoon butter/vanilla emulsion or extract (optional)

1)In a small saucepan, whisk together Bisquick and milk on medium heated stove until you get a brownie batter like texture.
2)Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
3)In a separate bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar.
4)Once Bisquick mixture is cooled, stir in butter emulsion or extract.
5)Lastly, beat together Bisquick and cream cheese mixtures. Be sure the Bisquick mixture is completely cooled before combining or your butter will start to melt and it just won't work.  photo thenewbakingmemoirs_zps410cbd72.jpg
