Cake Mix Doughnuts
Here is a quick little recipe since I have kind of been missing in baking action. I have been crazy busy with helping with a cubscout day camp, seminary graduation, and watching some extra kids who just got out of school and are waiting for summer fun and summer school to start up next week. But I did find some time to make some doughnuts one morning out of cake mix. I should start a new tab full of boxed cake mix recipes soon!
It is really simple and quite tasty! The ones I made above were made using a butter pecan cake mix. So bust out that doughnut maker and pump out a batch.
Recipe
makes about 25 2" doughnuts
Ingredients:
1 box cake mix (any flavor of your choice)
1/4 C. vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 C. milk
Directions:
1) Mix together all of the ingredients.
2) Heat up your doughnut maker.
3) Transfer your dough mix into a gallon sized freezer bag. Snip a hole in the corner of the bag.
4) Pipe dough into preheated doughnut maker and allow to cook for 2-3 minutes.
That's it, super simple and a very yummy doughnut recipe. You can eat them plain, add a chocolate glaze, maybe powdered sugar, or some cinnamon and sugar on top. The flavor combos and options possibilities are endless!!! What kinds of combinations do you think would work best?
